Well I would answer it this way.  Hope it helps-you have four friends plus yourself.  That makes 5.  You will then take the $400 x 5(how many people) + the cost of tools $525.  2000 + 525=$2525

Profit of each=$400
total profit=4*400= $1600
cost=$525
total income=1600+525=$2125
