<em>The Warring States period in China was from 475-221 BC. It was a conflictive period in ancient China. Many states were engaged in war before the Qin Dynasty conquered them and finally China were united.  </em>

During the Warring States period, trade increased and the kinds of goods exchanged became more diverse. The merchant class were view with respect and were more prominent as trade developed and merchants became middle class because they could get more money and increase their wealth. When Qin’s conquest ended the Warring States period, merchants had a respectable position in the social class rank of China. The trading of many and diverse products allowed them to increase its presence and position in those years.

Also, they weakened the federal government by not allowing them to control taxes. The state government didn't have anyone to check on them, so they had high taxes. This caused a rebellion. This made government officials realize that they needed a stronger federal government. They then made the constitution
