Anothony has 24 squash plants and 18 corn seedlings that he plans to plant in rows on his vegetable garden. Each row will contai

n only one type of plant, and he want me to have the same number of plants in each row of the garden. Anthony also wants to have the greatest number of plants possible in each row. What does Anthony need to find determine how many of each type of plant to put in each row? Explain

Anthony needs to find the greatest common factor of both 18 and 24. The reason why is because this way he can have the same number of plants in each row while having the greatest number in each row possible. The amount of plants he needs to put in each row is 6.

If a hurricane was headed your way, would you evacuate? The headline of a press release issued January 21, 2009 by the survey re
Nikolay [14]

Answer:

The 98% confidence interval for population proportion of people who refuse evacuation is {0.30, 0.33].

Step-by-step explanation:

The sample drawn is of size, <em>n</em> = 5046.

As the sample size is large, i.e. <em>n</em> > 30, according to the Central limit theorem the sampling distribution of sample proportion will be normally distributed with mean \hat p and standard deviation \sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n} }.

The mean is: \hat p=0.31

The confidence level (CL) = 98%

The confidence interval for single proportion is:

CI_{p}=[\hat p-z_{(\alpha /2)}\times\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n} },\ \hat p+z_{(\alpha /2)}\times\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n} }]

Here z_{(\alpha /2)} = critical value and <em>α </em>= significance level.

Compute the value of <em>α</em> as follows:

\alpha =1-CL\\=1-0.98\\=0.02

For <em>α</em> = 0.02 the critical value can be computed from the <em>z</em> table.

Then the value of z_{(\alpha /2)} is ± 2.33.

The 98% confidence interval for population proportion is:

CI_{p}=[\hat p-z_{(\alpha /2)}\times\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n} },\ \hat p+z_{(\alpha /2)}\times\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n} }]\\=[0.31-2.33\times \sqrt{\frac{0.31\times(1-0.33)}{5046} },\ 0.31+2.33\times \sqrt{\frac{0.31\times(1-0.33)}{5046} } ]\\=[0.31-0.0152,\ 0.31+0.0152]\\=[0.2948,0.3252]\\\approx[0.30,\ 0.33]

Thus, the 98% confidence interval [0.30, 0.33] implies that there is a 0.98 probability that the population proportion of people who refuse evacuation is between 0.30 and 0.33.

Answer:

Option B

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation gives the information about the temperature in Vancouver over a period of 4 hours.

y = -2x + 43

Here 43 represents the initial temperature and (-2) represents the temperature fall in every one hour.

x = duration or time

Therefore, equation states that initial temperature when measured was 43 °F and it is dropping by 2 degrees per hour.

Option B is the answer.

(05.01 MC) choose the systems of equations which matches the following graph
topjm [15]

Answer:

a

Step-by-step explanation:

x+2y=-10

-x       -x

2y=-10-x

y=(1/2)x-5

This is one of the lines and reduces the options to a or c.

3x-y=12

-3x    -3x

-y=12-3x

y=3x-12

This is the line with the positive slope and since both lines match, the answer is a.

2/3÷(-14) show your work.
Nookie1986 [14]
(2/3) / -14 is the same as (2/3) * -(1/14) since we can multiply by the reciprocal when dividing with fractions.

2/3 * -1/14 = -2/42 = -1/21
