Jennifer has a total of 8/9 square yard of fabric to use for making handkerchiefs. Each handkerchief requires 1/6 square yard of
fabric. Write an inequality that can be used to find s, the number of scarves Jennifer can make with the material she has. How many scarves can she make with the material she has?
The total amount of material that is needed for the s scarves is calculated by multiplying s and 1/6. This calculated value should not exceed 8/9 in order for the material to still be enough for the project. The inequality is, s/6 ≤ 8/9 The value of s from the inequality is 5.33. Therefore, the maximum number of scarves that can be made out of the material available is 5.
Circumference is equal to pi times diameter. If you divide both sides of the equation by pi you get diameter of the Big Ben clock. If you divide diameter by 2 you get radius.
