"The terrain is mountainous, which means there is not a lot of good land for farming. Because of the geography, the Japanese relied on the sea for many aspects of daily life. Trade with China and Korea became important to get the resources they needed. ... One of the major ideas that influenced Japan was Buddhism."

There was no longer one dominant religion. More areas declared themselves to be Lutheran or Calvinist. Old political lines were not as important as the new religious lines that were drawn. This would also be one one of the last major wars over religion.

hieroglyphics and papyrus helped grow the the civilization in Egypt because it was one of the first forms of a language and could easy be made to make a hieroglyph you needed a surface and paint. on the other hand papyrus made it possible to make writing that could be delivered by one man or stored in a place not written on a wall. it was the early form of paper. much easier to carry imagine trying to deliver a giant rock with writing just not gonna happen.
