Since our new generation consists mostly of children (which assuming if children get sick the adults will as well)  it could slowly decrease our children population, possibly creating a butterfly effect where we don't have enough children so when the older generation dies off due to the lack of a strong immune system, as will some adults of that generation will have a higher risk of death as will the children. Therefore, there wont be enough people to populate the next generation. And possibly causing humans to become extinct . I'm not quite sure, but this seems like the best bet.
