It featured a re-match of the 1824 election, as President John Quincy Adams of the National Republican Party faced Andrew Jackson of the nascent Democratic Party.  Andrew Jackson won.

During these elections no other important candidate appeared, for this reason most of the votes were concentrated on these two personalities. Finally the winner of the elections was Jackson.

5. The Soviet Union was involved in a border war in 1968 with China. The Soviet Union was also involve in conflict with Czechoslovakia.
