He was a Buddhist monk that traveled to India and translated the sacred scriptures of Buddhism that were written in Sanskrit into Chinese. He was a man of peace and prayer that founded a meditation and prayer school. He also extensively travel by India and Central Asia, spreading his teachings all over the place.
