The simplest way to do this is to get it into improper fraction form with the same denominator.
First things first, get it into an improper fraction.

7 7/8 = 7*8+7/8             3 1/4 = 3*4+1/4
         = 56+7/8                       = 12+1/4
         = 63/8                           = 13/4

The next thing to do is to get the denominators the same by finding the LCF, which could be done by dividing the 63/8 by 4, which would give a decimal as a numerator, so its best to multiply 13/4 by two
The two fraction will then be:
63/8 and 26/8
Seeing as the denominators are the same, you can simply subtract the numerators and simplify, i.e.
63-26/8 = 37/8
             = 4 5/8
Hope this makes sense :D

She has 300 g of minced meat.
The recipe calls for 400 g of minced meat.
What fraction of the amount of minced meat the recipe calls for does she have?
(300 g)/(400 g) = 3/4 = 0.75
She has 3/4 (or 0.75) of the amount of minced meat the recipe uses, so she needs to use 3/4 of all the other amounts.
Since 3/4 = 0.75, multiply each amount in the recipe by 0.75

Minced meat: 0.75 * 400 g = 300 g
(This confirms that the fraction 3/4 = 0.75 is correct.)

Tomatoes: 0.75 * 800 g = 600 g
Stock: 0.75 * 600 ml = 450 ml
Red wine: 0.75 * 300 ml = 225 ml

In an opinion poll, 29% of 100 people sampled said they were strongly opposed to the state lottery. What is the approximate stan
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

  The approximate standard error of the sample proportion is SE = 0.0454

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

      The  sample proportion is  \r p  = 0.29

       The  sample size is  n =  100

Generally the standard error of the sample proportion is mathematically represented as

         SE =  \sqrt{ \frac{ \r p (1- \r p )}{n} }

substituting values

         SE =  \sqrt{ \frac{ 0.29 (1- 0.29 )}{ 100 } }

         SE =  0.0454
