Answer:

In the Hunger Games, it is Katniss almost doesn't react. She is stunned for a moment and unsure of what has happened when her sister's name is called. Simularily, Jonas freezes ,seemingly emotionless until he is called up to be given his task.They both panic so intensely, that their thoughts are described to actually slow, even if only for a moment.
