After Britain return Florida to Spain, they govern Florida for about 40 years, due Spain have not enough money to support this government the soldiers were few to enforce the laws and Florida was a refuge for runaway slaves, after US acquire Florida, the Indians living there, the Seminoles tribe, were move out and new farms started. The answer is Planters, who were able to expand plantations and Southern culture into Florida.
