They used these powers and promoted a sense of goal to eradicate the outrages done against them and to make the people engage in more political and social activities.  Across Jamaica, Marcus is seen as a great leader and his philosophies have had a strong influence on these revolutions. In the 1960s, Garvey's theories would also be ignited by the rise of separate nations in Africa and the advent of the Black Power movement.
