In his very famous speech Martin Luther King Jr speaks of a dream that he sees for America. He speaks of a United America where races can be "brothers" or live in peace with one another. Although the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed 100 years before races where still treated with inequality. King wanted that to change when he gave this speech he gave everyone hope for a future America
