He invented the cotton gin, a machine that greatly accelerated the speed of the process of removing seeds from cotton fibers. This helped to turn this industry into America's leading export. Due to problems with the patent, the cotton gin did not give Whitney too much profit. Worse still, the invention of the machine did not do much in the efforts to abolish slavery, as slaves continued to be employed in its use.

Select the correct answer.
Semenov [28]

Answer:

O D. God would defend the American colonists' fight because their cause was upright.

Explanation:

Thomas Paine's "The Crisis Number One" is a political statement about his support for the American people's desire and the act of revolting against the British empire. In it, he argues for the need to get independence and that it is the right thing to do for the American people.

Moreover, Paine continues to present an accusatory claim towards Britain and its king, <em>"I cannot see on what grounds the king of Britain can look up to heaven for help against us: a common murderer, a highwayman, or a house-breaker, has as good a pretence as he."</em> To Paine, it seemed like God will not even want to side with the British because of their desire to be violent while the US <em>"have so earnestly and so repeatedly sought to avoid the calamities of war, by every decent method which wisdom could invent."</em>

Thus, the correct answer is option D.

How did the us constitution set up a strong, but not tyrannical government?
pashok25 [27]
We could consider <span>the us constitution set up a strong, but not tyrannical government because: </span>They set up a representative government, created a federal system, and balanced the powers
By dividing the government into several branches, not only the governmental operation will become more focus since government workers will not have too much on their plate but we also prevent the government from having too much power and jurisdiction.
