The reason I do not believe it is C is that: "After leaving UCLA his senior year" Is not a complete thought. Nor does the sentence have linking words like, however, furthermore, despite, etc.
D is not right because there is no reason to have a break between "UCLA" and "his senior year".
So all you have to do is look around your house and see what texture you can see and what things feel rough. Or if it feels smooth, soft, hard, light or heavy then that is what you write.
