grin007 [14]

Group of answer choices.

A. overwhelm

B. overwhelmingly

C. overwhelmed

D. overwhelming

Answer:

B. overwhelmingly

Explanation:

A verb is one of the parts of speech in English language. Verbs can be defined as any word that describes an action, occurrence, or state of existence. Some examples of verb are dance, sing, walk, play, run, sit, etc.

An adverb can be defined as a word that is used in English language to modify a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Some examples are slowly, quickly, brightly, sadly, etc.

When an adverb is used to refer to a whole sentence in order to express an opinion, describe an attitude or simply act as a comment, it is known as a sentence adverb. Some examples of this type of adverb are however, clearly, sadly, evidently, fortunately, seriously, curiously, actually, presumably, apparently, etc.

Additionally, the adverbial form of a word is usually formed by adding the suffix "ly" to the verb.

Hence, response to our new package design have been overwhelmingly positive.

What can you infer from the text as to Lizabeth's reasons for her final act of destruction?
Novosadov [1.4K]

Lizabeth understands the destroying of Mrs. Lottie' marigolds as her final act of childhood, the final act of innocence.

Lizabeth feelings that led her to destroy the marigolds were "the great need for my mother who was never there, the hopelessness  of our poverty and degradation, the bewilderment of being neither child nor woman  and yet both at once, the fear unleashed by my father’s tears".

The story is situated during the Great Depression. Her mother is never home because she has to work, her father cries because he can't provide for his family. You add the hopelessness of their poverty and the fact that she is going through defining times between being a woman and a child she doesn't understand at the moment, she must have felt confused and lonely, which leads to the destruction of the marigolds as an impulse she can't control.

Before she has stated that she hated those marigolds because they have the nerve to be beautiful in the midst of ugliness, they didn't match with the house, the times, and what she was feeling inside.

If your teacher describes an author as writing during the Enlightenment, which of the following topics would be useful
Sergio [31]

Answer:

when the Enlightenment period occurred

the major ideas of the Enlightenment

the social and political contexts of the Enlightenment

Explanation:

If my teacher describes an author as writing during the Enlightenment, the following topics would be useful to research to understand the significance of this fact:

1. when the Enlightenment period occurred

2. the major ideas of the Enlightenment

3. the social and political contexts of the Enlightenment.

These would be important to understand what the Enlightenment period was all about and what was expected of writers during that period and what was taboo during that period. Also, finding out when this period occurred would help understand the author's writings better.
