in the aftermath of WWII many countries were left unoccupied, or with new governments ready to star a new era on their history, this lead to a heavy sprout of communism around the world, in that time some of it was natural and normal, other rebels were being promoted by the soviets in order to grow their influence all over the globe, the Government saw communism as a threat to the soveraignity of the United States and because of that the Truman doctrine stated that America would do everything, from financial aid to send troops to countries where communism could be rising up and threat the country´s interests. This got the United States involved in conflicts all around the world, being Vietnam one of those.
