Civil Liberties which an individual is subjected to are: freedom of speech, religion, expression, right to security etc.  "American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)" was formed in 1920 and their main aim was to preserve individual rights. They guarded all the liberties that every individual should get in a country according to the constitution and law.  ACLU protects complete civil liberties by even affecting the result of some of the legal cases in the courts by intervening in the same.
