Answer:

15 students study math and not English

Step-by-step explanation:

lets take the # or people who study math but not English as "x"

so 90 students study math or English

25 students study English and not math

and

50 study both

since 90 students study math or English that is what our equation will equal.

so

25+x+50=90

25+50=75

75+x=90

subtract "75" from both sides:

x=15

Hope this helps!

– 4/5 (9x – 20) – 3x = 4/5 x – 6. Enter the value of x that makes this equation true.
marta [7]
- 4/5*9x +4/5*20 - 3x= 4/5x- 6
-36/5*x+16-3x-4/5*x= -6
-36/5*x-15x/5-4/5*x=-6-16
-55/5*x=-22
-11x= -22
x= -22:(-11)
x=2

-4/5(9*2-20)-3*2=4/5*2-6
-4/5*(-2)-6=8/5-6
8/5-6=8/5-6

Mountain climber Joe climb to a mountain peak that was 1200 feet above its base and 1500 feet east of it base , mountain climber
Snezhnost [94]
***NOTE*** we are going to use the rise over run formula to solve this problem

Joe climbed a mountain with a rise of 1, 200 feet and a run of 1, 500 feet.
So, the slope would be:

1, 200 over 1, 500

which can be simplified...

1,200/1,500 = 12/15 = 4/5

When we solve for slope for Bob, we do the same thing.

He climbed a mountain with a rise 900 feet and a run of 1, 000 feet.

So, it would look like this after we simplify it...

900/1,000 = 9/10

Finally, since Bob's mountain has the largest slope (or fraction), that means that he climbed the steepest mountain.

I hope this helps! :) Let me know if you need help with anything else! I'd be happy to help you!!

Find x <br> Need help fast please !!
stellarik [79]

Answer:

x = 4 \sqrt{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

By Pythagoras Theorem:

{x}^{2}  =  {( \sqrt{8 \times 4}) }^{2}   +   {(4)}^{2}  \\  \\  {x}^{2}  =  {( \sqrt{32}) }^{2}   +   {(4)}^{2}  \\  \\ {x}^{2}  =  32   +   16  \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 48 \\  \\ x =  \sqrt{48}  \\  \\ x =  \sqrt{ {4}^{2}  \times 3}  \\  \\ x = 4 \sqrt{3}
