f(g(x))=x^2+4x+3

Solution:

Given data:

f(x)=x^{2}-1

g(x)=x+2

To find f(g(x)):

Substitute g(x) into the function f(x).

f(g(x))=f(x+2)

           f(g(x))=(x+2)^2-1

Apply algebraic rule:

(a+b)^{2}=a^{2}+2 a b+b^{2}

f(g(x))=x^2+2\times 2x+2^2-1

f(g(x))=x^2+4x+4-1

f(g(x))=x^2+4x+3

Therefore, f(g(x))=x^2+4x+3.

If the variance for a data set is 104.04 what is the standard deviation
insens350 [35]
Given that variance of a data set is:
Variance=σ²
the standard deviation is the square root of the variance:
thus
standard deviation= √(variance)
variance,σ²=104.04
thus
std deviation=√σ²=√104.04
thus
σ=10.2

Which of the following equations represents a line that passes through the points ( − 3 , − 3 ) and (−2,0)?
jek_recluse [69]

y=3x+6

Use

y=mx+b

to calculate the equation of the line, where

m

represents the slope and

b

represents the y-intercept.

Slope is equal to the change in

y

over the change in

x

, or rise over run.
