John Ronald Reuel Tolkien's "The Hobbit" is a series of literary work based off "The Lord of the Ring" trilogy that had even been made into a famous successful movie series. This high fantasy series revolves around the life of the dwarf Bilbo Baggins who played a huge role in the whole series.
In Chapter XVII of the text shows 'The Battle of the Five Armies' where the humans, dwarfs and elves fought against the common enemy of the goblins and Wargs. Towards the end of the battle, Bilbo who had been watching from a safe distance in the mountain saw the Eagles coming from a far. Though they were not visible at first, he still shouted to warn the army below. At that moment, a stone came hurling down from the top of the mountain, hitting him. He lost his consciousness soon after seeing the eagles. Thus, the last thing Bilbo saw before getting hit on the head and passing out is the arrival of the Eagles.
