"Nonviolence is fine as long as it works," Malcolm X once said. Recently, Columbia University Press published an extraordinary scholarly book that proves how nonviolence works far better as a method for social change than violence. This breakthrough book demonstrates that Gandhi was right, that the method of nonviolent resistance as a way to social change usually leads to a more lasting peace while violence usually fails.

Why do you think the United States put a limit on the number of immigrants who may enter the country?
eimsori [14]
Immigration law is very complex, and there is much confusion as to how it works. The Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA), the body of law governing current immigration policy, provides for an annual worldwide limit of 675,000 permanent immigrants, with certain exceptions for close family members. Lawful permanent residency allows a foreign national to work and live lawfully and permanently in the United States. Lawful permanent residents (LPRs) are eligible to apply for nearly all jobs (i.e., jobs not legitimately restricted to U.S. citizens) and can remain in the country even if they are unemployed. Each year the United States also admits noncitizens on a temporary basis. Annually, Congress and the President determine a separate number for refugee admissions.

A general government may operate on individuals in cases of general concern, and still be federal. This distinction is with the states, as states, represented by the people of those states.

Type of right and freedom dose Jefferson say Americans have under the state governor
Sveta_85 [38]

Thomas Jefferson was a defender of freedom of conscience and mentioned the Declaration of Independence, Natural Rights to justify and opposed Alien and Sedition Acts declaring independence from England.

Explanation:

Jefferson mentioned the Declaration of Independence. Sedition Act means anyone convicted for publishing false statements against any part of the government will be punished.

Jefferson firmly believed that every American should get the right to prevent the government from damaging the liberties of its citizens.

Perfection of liberty of Americans and freedom of speech, religion, assembly, conscience, petition and press was focused.

He felt a strong federal government could keep the country more economically and militarily secured. Similarly he was also scared that a powerful central government might hinder the rights of citizen.
