Answer: $9,203

Explanation:

Witheld tax amount by company:

Social security = $5,800

Medicare tax = $1,450

Total Earning subject to unemployment compensation tax = $31,500

Federal Unemployment tax rate = 0.8%

State Unemployment tax rate = 5.4%

Federal Unemployment tax amount = 0.008 × $31,500 = $252

State Unemployment tax amount = 0.054 × $31,500 = $1,701

Total payroll tax expense :

(social security + Medicare tax + federal unemployment tax + state unemployment tax)

$(5,800 + 1,450 + 252 +1701)

= $9,203.

Answer the following questions regarding the matrix below, which represents the strategic interaction between the two largest mo
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

a. A pure strategy Nash equilibrium of a game is a strategy profile in which both players are best responding to each other's strategies. For the given payoffs, we have 2 pure strategy Nash equilibrium (June, August) and (August. June). The arguments are as follows:

- Universal playing June and Fox playing August is equilibrium. This is because given that Universal in releasing in June. FOX maximizes its payoff by releasing in August and the same reasoning applies for Universal as well.

• Universal playing August and Fox playing June is equilibrium. This is because given that Universal is releasing in August, Fox maximizes its payoff by releasing in June and the same reasoning applies for universal as well.

b. The extensive form diagram is given below. The sub game perfect equilibrium is computed by backward induction. Fox chooses its action given what universal has decided. These actions are marked by the red arrows. Universal therefore faces the following payoffs:

- By playing June, Universal gets 8 and Fox gets 6

- By playing July, Universal gets 4 and Foxs gets 6

- By playing August, Universal gets 7 and Fox gets *

Thus, given the above information by backward induction, Universal will choose to release in June and then Fox will release in August leading to payoffs (8,6).

Universal would want this to happen because the subgame perfect equilibrium gets rid of the Nash equilibrium that generated lower payof for them. That is , the only SPE is giving payoffs (8,6) and (7,8). Since Universal prefers 8 over 7, it would want the game to be sequential

Sue and Andrew form SA general partnership. Each person receives an equal interest in the newly created partnership. Sue contrib
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

$0

Explanation:

Given that

Sue contributed amount = $18,000

FMV of land = $63,000

Basis in land = $28,000

Andrew contributed amount = $20,000

FMV of Building = $41,000

Basis in equipment = $16,000

Basis in building = $28,000

Based on the above information, the gain that would be recognized is $0 as Partnerships recognize no gain on receiving contributed valued property. At the disposal of the asset, the constructed-in benefit or constructed-in loss will be revealed. For this, the partnership basis property i.e being acquired should be based on a carryover basis.

Contests and sweepstakes are common promotional tools used by companies to attract customers to their company or product.

A contest is slightly different from a sweepstakes in that it requires participants to complete some sort of challenge, such as a trivia question, or demonstrate talent or skill.

What is the purpose of a sweepstakes?

Sweepstakes Provide Valuable Market Research

Companies use giveaways to get insight into how their potential customers think, spend their time, or use the company's products.

The company can use the results of their surveys to make future advertisements more effective.

Answer: d. Dynamic pricing strategy

Explanation:

The companies mentioned above are increasingly turning towards Dynamic pricing in order to maximize sales and therefore increase profitability.

Dynamic pricing refers to a strategy where goods are priced at the optimal price based on the conditions at the time. In other words, it involves trying to sell at a price that is cheapest for the customer based on factors such as consumer willingness to pay, competition and others.

Prices can therefore change multiple times in as little a period as a day just to ensure that customers buy the goods being offered.
