One of the main characters is an eleven year-old girl who writes for her older sister. Her older sister has a disablity. The two girls had to run away because they were suffering because of their father's mistreatment. The two girls meet two other girls who live on the streets. Now the four girls are like a family.

They go to live on a bridge

The children go to live on an abandoned bridge, surrounded by garbage, glass and metal. They try to make this place a home with some objects, but they have to leave the bridge and go to a cemetery.
