Answer:

Both absolute and relative dating

Explanation:

There are two ways of finding the age of the fossil.

1. Relative dating

2. Radioactive dating.

Relative dating: In this method, we can only compare the ages of the fossil but cannot precisely find it. In relative dating, we dig the earth and look for the presence of fossils, and it is reasonable that the fossil discovered closer to the surface of the earth is most recent one and the fossil discovered in the deeper layers is the older one. So here we talk about the age of fossil in relative terms.

Radioactive dating: All organic matter on the earth is made up of various elements. Some elements exist in different isotopic forms such as C-12 and C-14. C-14 is radioactive isotope, it is unstable and decays over time at a steady rate. This steady rate is known as half life of the respective isotope. We can calculate the ratio of observed abundance of that radioactive isotope and its decay product in the fossil or rock we are studying. This is the principle of radioactive dating.

It is relative dating because no scientist can tell the actually time that the layers of rocks where formed or when the fossil began to degrade

  • So abyssal zone is the zone of the ocean where seaweed and fungi are present.
  • The life that is found in the Abyssal Zone includes chemosynthetic bacteria, tubeworms, and small fish that are dark in color or transparent.

The control for a complementation test, which is often omitted, is the:
Degger [83]

Answer:

b. cis test

Explanation:

A test that is used to determine if the mutation associated with a given phenotype is due to mutations in two different genes or due to different alleles of the same gene is called a complementation test.

A complementation test is also called as a cis-trans test.

If the mutations in a complementation test are located on the same position then the genes are termed as being on the cis position otherwise on the trans-position.

A cis test, that is if the genes are located on the same position serves as a control for the complementation test.

What are some characteristics of polyploidy organisms<br>
ruslelena [56]
Polyploidy is the state of a cell or organism having more than two paired (homologous) sets of chromosomes. Most species whose cells have nuclei (eukaryotes) are diploid, meaning they have two sets of chromosomes—one set inherited from each parent.
