Darry is a good guardian for Sodapop and Ponyboy because he sets boundaries for them and truly loves his brothers. Darry feels guilty about this incident because when he sees Pony, his eyes beg Pony to forgive him.

Darry is a good guardian to Ponyboy because he sets some boundaries for them and truly loves his brothers. Also, he put his collage work time and education aside to work 2 jobs so he could provide for his brothers so they can remain together as a family.
