Answer: Independent variable = number of miles he drive over 10 miles

Dependent variable  = Total fee  (in dollars)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Charge for each delivery =  $7

Addition charge for each mile over 10 miles =  45 cents = $0.45

[ 1 cent = $ 0.01 ]

Since the fee vary by the number of miles he drive over 10 miles.

So , Independent variable = number of miles he drive over 10 miles

Dependent variable  = Total fee  (in dollars)

Let x= number of miles he drive over 10 miles

y= Total fee  (in dollars)

Such that , y= 7+0.45x   [Total fee= Fixed charge + Additional charge ]

So , the appropriate  variables are:

Independent variable = number of miles he drive over 10 miles

Dependent variable  = Total fee  (in dollars)

If the circumference of a circle is 120 inches and M angle B equals 18° then what is the length of arc AC
Andru [333]

Answer:

For a circle of radius R, the circumference is:

C = 2*pi*R

where pi = 3.14

And if we have an arc defined by an angle θ, the length of the arc is:

A = (θ/360°)*2*pi*R

Here we can not see the image, then i assume that B is the angle that defines the arc AC.

Now we know that the circumference is 120 in, then:

2*pi*R = 120in

Then the length of the arc is:

A = (θ/360°)*120 in

Then if the angle is 18°, we have:

A = (18°/360)*120 in = 6in

Answer:

175 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question,

(a) ΔABC and ΔEDC are similar because all the angles in ΔABC is equal to the corresponding angles in ΔEDC.

I.e, ΔABC is equiangular to ΔEDC. (AAA).

(b) From the diagram.

for similar angle, ratio of corresponding sides are equal

100/d = 4x/7x

100/d = 4/7

where d = distance across the river

solve for d

d = (100×7)/4

d = 175 ft
