Both R<span>epublicanism and progressiveness believe in the right to Liberty, Freedom and Free Speech.

Both believe in the power of democracy and government by the people. However, both have actually meant different things in different times.

An example is the deep-seated patriotism of Republicanism and the American exceptionalism. On the other hand progressiveness believe in equality among people from all nations and actually support migrations.
