Robert Hooke was a scientist born in 1635 and developed a microscope. He used biconvex lens, additional lens, eyepiece lens and tube lens.

Louis Joblot was a scientist who lived from 1645 to 1723. He was often neglected in history and his inventions were not recognised and acknowledged. He was the first to recognised and identified microbes. He developed a new modifications of microscope. Joblot’s new microscope permitted precise focusing by removing stray light and enabling the mounting of a diverse array of specimens. Joblot constructed a side pillar microscope that use diaphragm to correct aberrations.
