Answer:

Let's solve!

Step-by-step explanation:

Let m and n be the two numbers. Then:

2m + n = 11

n = 11 - 2m

m (11 - 2m) = 12

11m - 2m = 12

2m - 11m + 12 = 0

(2m - 3)(m - 4) = 0

m = 3/2 or 4

Since 11 - 2(4) = 3, then m must be 3/2, and n must be 8. ☺☺☺

I hope this helps!

the two number are x and y

x + 2y = 11

x * y = 12

\left \{ {{x + 2y = 11} \atop {x * y = 12}} \right.

\left \{ {{x = 11 - 2y} \atop {x * y = 12}} \right.

so, using the sostituzion metod

\left \{ {{x = 11 - 2y} \atop {(11-2y) * y = 12}} \right.

\left \{ {{x = 11 - 2y} \atop {(11y - 2y² = 12}} \right.

\left \{ {{x = 11 - 2y} \atop {(11y - 2y² - 12 = 0}} \right.

................................................

11y - 2y² - 12 = 0

2y² - 11y  + 12 = 0

Δ = 121 - 96 = 25

y1,2 = (11 ± 5)/4

y1 = (11 - 5)/4 = 6/4 = 3/2

y2 = (11 + 5)/4 = 16/4 = 4

x+2y = x + 2 * 3/2 = 11

x = 8

x+2y = x + 2 * 4 = 11

x = 3 not accetable because x must be larger than y

the couple of numbers 8 and 3/2 (8+2*3/2=11) and (8*3/2=12)

What is the greatest common factor of 65 and 91
Sedbober [7]
So,

First, we find the prime factored form (P.F.F.) of 65 and 91.

P.F.F. of 65: 5 * 13

P.F.F. of 91: 7 * 13

Find the common numbers
13

13 = G.C.F.

Note: This method works for finding any G.C.F. (find common primes)
