How would anaerobic conditions (when no O2 is present) affect the rate of electron transport and ATP production during oxidative

phosphorylation? (Note that you should not consider the effect on ATP synthesis in glycolysis or the citric acid cycle.)

in the electron transport chain of oxidative phosphorylation oxygen(O2) is the final electron recipient( as it is very electronegative). This electronegativity of oxygen is how the electrons move down the chain and hydrogen ions are pumped leading to ATP production. When O2 is not present these processes don’t occur. Thus the cell can only depend on glycolysis for energy(ATP production).

Hope this helps:)

The period of time during which an "explosion" of fossilized animals with bilateral symmetry are first found is the:

The Cambrian. The Cambrian Explosion, which began roughly 545 million years ago, was a relatively rapid (~5-10 million years) diversification of multicellular life, including most of the animal phyla currently extant today. This was an evolutionary arms race of sorts, with many creatures achieving both larger size as well as symmetrical bodies and various structural supports, including skeletal systems. It was also a highly experimental times in terms of evolution, as many forms of creatures arose and went extinct in rapid succession during this period.
