He threatens anyone who questions his authority because he understands how gratifying power is. He even breaks the rules that he helped make for the farm in order to pursue his own goals. The pigs will take any measure necessary to progress, no matter who they harm. In an animal farm, we see a case of power corruption "Napoleon declared that labor days would now also include Sunday afternoons. Any animal's meals would be reduced in half if he refused to take part in this exercise." This example displays Napoleon's disregard for animal damage as a result of their extended workdays. To get their food, they had to put in more time than they had anticipated. This is quite unfair and not in the best interests of the animals.
