Use the distributive property to expand -4(-2/3+3x). Which is an equivalent expression?
Bad White [126]

- 4 \times ( \frac{2}{3} + 3x)
Multiply each term in the parentheses, namely 2/3 and 3x, by the only term outside of the parentheses, -4.

Each of the resulting products becomes a new term in the addition.

( - 4 \times \frac{2}{3} ) + ( - 4 \times 3x)
( - \frac{8}{3} ) + ( - 12x)
- \frac{8}{3} - 12x
You may choose to keep the answer this way, or continue to change the improper fraction into a proper fraction. A lot of teachers also prefer to have the highest degree terms (terms that have variables with the highest powers) on the left.

- 12x - 2 \frac{2}{3}

Question 4. Just replace x with 2a.
So f(2a) = 5(2a)^2 + 4(2a)
= 5*4a^2 + 8a
= 20a^2 + 8a

Question 5. Since x = 3, which is more than 1, use the second equation.
f(3) = 3^2 + 1
= 9 + 1
= 10

Can someone help me and do this for me were doing convert customary units if lenght
Mamont248 [21]

Well there are 5280 feet in 1 mile and if you multiply that by 2 then that's too many. if you multiply 5280 by 1.5, then you get 7920 so it is equal to 1.5 miles.

There are 36 inches in 1 yard so you multiply 6 by 36 to get 216.

Again there are 5,280 feet in 1 mile. Divide 26,400 by 5,280 and you get 50 miles.

12 inches in 1 foot. Multiply 12 by 9 and get 144.

22 feet equals 7 yards and 1 foot.

51 inches equals 4 feet and 3 inches. (4 feet equals 48 inches)

Btw, 7 yards is greater then 20 feet (7 yards equals 21 feet)

2 miles is more then 3,500 yards. (2 miles equals 2,520 yards)

11.5 feet is less then 4 yards (4 yards equals 12 feet)

72 inches is EQUAL to 2 yards

5.5 yards is more then 192 inches.  (5.5 yards equals 198 inches)
