The Civil War, of course, took up a lot of government resources. Because of this, Native Americans in the Midwest weren't paid the way the treaties said they had to be.

The developments that happened after the second world war was mainly because of the Interstate Highway System that made Oklahoma the center for the said system. Moreover, they also housed the biggest air depot in the world an, of course, this helped their economy. These are just some of the reasons, there are plenty reasons. But the main idea is that their economy improved.
