I just did a section on this book in my class, and by skimming the text, i believe that the answer would most likely be: He's concerned that there could be lice or bedbugs.
The line that helps to establish that something unnatural and wrong has happened is A: "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark". It is mentioned by one of the characters when the ghost appears, and it is also commonly used to indicate that something suspicious is happening. The word <em>rotten</em> describes something spoiled that usually smells bad. In this case, the situation does not "smell good".

The media can turn something into something it’s not the news media has so much power and can go as far as fake news, giving us out wrong information which then leads us into disagreements with each other to the point where we don’t know what’s real and what’s fake anymore
