A skin biopsy is a technique whereby a skin lesion is extracted or taken for analysis under the microscope by a pathologist. This test is often done to diagnose skin conditions such as skin cancer, skin infections or other skin disorders.
A skin biopsy is performed by a dermatologist and the result of this test often become available in 4-10 days. After the result is made available, it is then analyzed and appropriate diagnosis is made.
