"Everybody about here is for Secession." Many unionists, thinking secession inevitable, stayed home as North Carolinian's approved a convention in mid-May. When the delegates met in Raleigh on May 20, they voted unanimously to secede from the United States and to join the Confederate States of America.

Which of the following were results of the French and Indian War?
LenKa [72]

The French and Indian War is an extension of the Seven Years’ War of 1756-63 that pitted the colonies of British America against New France. The French were defeated and lost vast territories, including Canada and French Louisiana. The Brits gained land east of the Mississippi River and removed French threat to its thirteen colonies. The conflict trained many American officers, including Washington, that would later fight in the Revolutionary War. The Brits Empire grew substantially, but the war incurred great debts. The Brits tried to tax the colonies more in order to pay the debt, causing the colonies to unite just in time for the Revolutionary war.

Answer:

The Supremacy Clause states that the Constitution is above all state and federal laws.

Explanation:

The Supremacy Clause provides that the constitution and laws of the United States, as well as international treaties concluded by the United States, are the supreme law of the country. This clause also obliges state judges to be governed by the US Constitution, laws, and international treaties, even if state constitutions and laws are contrary to federal law. It is contained in Article VI of the US Constitution.

The distinction between the jurisdiction and powers of the Union and the states in the US Constitution is based on the concept of dualistic federalism, which provides that the US as a whole and the states have their own powers, within which they are completely independent. In such a situation, conflicts may arise between the Union and the states, for the resolution of which it is necessary to determine the level of public authority to which primacy will be given.
