-3x+9 = -3(2x+3) + 3(x-4)+1

distribute

-3x+9 =-6x-9+3x-12+1

add like terms

-3x+9= -3x-20

add 3x to each side

9 = -20

there are no solutions because 9 does not equal -20

If rx – st = r, which expression represents r.
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

{ \tt{rx - st = r}}

» Collect like terms, r terms on the left hand side by subtracting r from both sides and adding st to both sides

{ \tt{(rx - st) { \green{ - r + st }} = r{ \green{ - r + st}}}} \\ { \tt{rx - r = st}}

» On the left hand side, factorise out r

{ \tt{ \green{r(x - 1)} = st}} \\  \\ { \boxed{ \tt{ \blue{ \: r =  \frac{st}{x - 1} }}}}

Given An = 5a(n-1) where a1= 2. What are the first 4 terms
nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

2, 10, 50, 250

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the formula with a₁ = 2 , then

a₂ = 5a₁ = 5 × 2 = 10

a₃ = 5a₂ = 5 × 10 = 50

a₄ = 5a₃ = 5 × 50 = 250

The first 4 terms are 2, 10, 50, 250

Which expression is equivalent to 4 sqrt 16x^11y^8/ 81x^7y^6 Assume x> 0 and y=0
Romashka [77]

One interpretation of your intent would be as follows:

                 16x^11y^8

Find 4 √ [-----------------]. Is that what you meant?

                   81x^7y^6

                                                                4*x^5*√x*y^4

If so, then the correct result would be 4 ---------------------

                                                                  9*x^3*√x*y^3

and this could be reduced to:

       4*x^5 * y^4 * √(x)     4*x^2*y

4 --------------------------- = -------------

      9*x^3*y^3 √(x)               9
