Answer:

I found that all throughout my life the best method for determining the meaning of an unfamiliar word would not be by using a related word or a dictionary but the answer to this question would be using context clues that are being used in the story. the method of using a dictionary is way too troublesome, this is because you would have to close your book or story to go either find an actual paper dictionary in either a library or you would have to go on your computer to search the definition of this word. it takes so much work just to find one definition to a word. It also wouldn't be the best method to use related words because you do not know the definition to this one specific word so how would you know the words that are related to it. Therefore the best method to determine the meaning of an unfamiliar word is to use context clues, using context clues is most helpful because all you have to do is really pay attention to what is happening in that scene and most likely the definition of that word will relate to the things that are being discussed or performed in the story at the time. There is no need to get up from your comfortable spot close the book to look frantically just looking for the definition to the unknown word, you can simply use the context to help you figure out the meaning and continue your book joyfully.

I would say context clue is the best if you are reading a passage or a text because it gives you the closest meaning of the word. Some words have more than one meaning, and in some cases, the meaning you know might not be the definition of the way it is used in the passage or text. For example, a minute can be seen like 30 minutes, and it can also be seen as minute: something that is small.

Hope this helps!!
