Because I can take notes from a tablet, and also because I might have bad handwriting. Also because I won't have to carry so much notebooks when I can just carry a tablet.

Write a program that uses nested loops to collect data and calculate the average rainfall over a period of years. The program sh
babunello [35]

Answer:

In Python:

year = int(input("Years: "))

while year<1:

   year = int(input("Invalid. Enter 1 or greater: "))

total = 0

for i in range(1,year+1):

   for j in range(1,13):

       month = int(input("Year "+str(i)+", Month "+str(j)+": "))

       while month<0:

           month = int(input("Invalid. Enter 0 or greater: "))

       total+=month

ave = total/(12*year)

print("Months: "+str(12 * year))

print("Total: "+str(total))

print("Average: "+str(ave))

Explanation:

This gets the number of years

year = int(input("Years: "))

This loop validates the number of years

<em>while year<1:</em>

<em>    year = int(input("Invalid. Enter 1 or greater: "))</em>

<em />

This initializes total to 0

total = 0

This iterates through the years

for i in range(1,year+1):

This iterates through the month of each year

   for j in range(1,13):

This gets the rainfall for each month

       month = int(input("Year "+str(i)+", Month "+str(j)+": "))

This loop validates the amount of rainfall

<em>        while month<0:</em>

<em>            month = int(input("Invalid. Enter 0 or greater: "))</em>

This calculates the total rainfall

       total+=month

This calculates the average rainfall

ave = total/(12*year)

This prints the number of month

print("Months: "+str(12 * year))

This prints the calculated total amount of rainfall

print("Total: "+str(total))

This prints the calculated average amount of rainfall

print("Average: "+str(ave))

A disk has 4000 cylinders, each with 8 tracks of 512 blocks. A seek takes 1 msec per cylinder moved. If no attempt is made to pu
shutvik [7]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

a)

If the blocks of a file are not put together, that is for nonadjacent block of files to each other, the time (t) taken to read a 100 block file is:

t = (average seek + rotational latency + transfer time) * 100 block

Average seek = 5 msec, rotational latency = 10 msec and transfer time = 20 microsec = 0.02 msec

t = (5 + 10 + 0.02) * 100 = 1502 msec

b)

If the blocks of a file are put together, that is for adjacent block of files to each other, the time (t) taken to read a 100 block file is:

t = (seek time * mean interblock distance + rotational latency + transfer time) * 100 block

seek time = 100 microsec = 0.1 msec, rotational latency = 10 msec and transfer time = 20 microsec = 0.02 msec, mean interblock distance = 2 cylinders

t = (0.1*2 + 10 + 0.02) * 100 = 1022 msec

Write a program that asks the user for three strings. Then, print out whether the first string concatenated to the second string
ipn [44]

Answer:

import java.util.Scanner;

public class num5 {

   public static void main(String[] args) {

       Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);

       System.out.println("Enter The First String");

       String str1 = in.next();

       System.out.println("Enter The Second String");

       String str2 = in.next();

       System.out.println("Enter The Third String");

       String str3 = in.next();

       String oneAndTwo = str1+str2;

       if(str3.equals(oneAndTwo)){

           System.out.println(str1+" + "+str2+" is equal to "+str3+"!");

       }

       else

           System.out.println(str1+" + "+str2+" is not equal to "+str3+"!");

   }

}

Explanation:

  • Implemented in Using Java Programming Language
  • Import Scanner Class to prompt and receive users' input
  • Create three string variables and store the three values entered by the user (str1, str2 and str3)
  • Concatenate str1 and str2 using the + operator and assign to a new variable
  • Use the if statement with Java's .equals() method to check for equality of the new string with the third string
  • Print the appropriate message if the equal or not
