This song has an implicit theme because the reader has to figure out that the artist is heart broken. He gives clues of this when he says’ “This city’s gonna love me then leave me alone.” A city can’t break his heart, he’s using the city as a metaphor for a girl breaking his heart and leaving him lonely. This theme relates to my life because i’ve gone through relationships and had a broken heart. I’ve also experienced the loneliness that comes after the heartbreak, which the artist also refers to.”
