In a well-written paragraph, explain how George Washington set precedents for the office of the president
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

George Washington set a precedent for the office of the president that was followed by almost every president that was elected after him. George Washington chose to only serve two terms in office. He did this because he believed that if he were to die in office Americans would view presidency as a lifetime appointment. Due to this, he decided to step down after only two terms. The only president to have served more than two terms was Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served four terms from 1933 to 1945. Due to this, in 1947 Congress passed the 22nd amendment which stated that a president could not serve more than two terms in office.

How did whites gain control of some Chute-pa-lu? To what extent did conflicting concepts of land ownership divide the Chute-pa-l
Arturiano [62]

The whites gained the control of Chutepalu when they invited the chiefs that the tribe had to a meeting with the council and then they promised them that they would have their own country if only they signed a treaty that would have them to give up their lands.

How the Chute-Pa-lu lost their lands

In the year 1877, one of the chiefs had refused that they would relinquish their lands to the white people in the area. This was met by a fight were he was defeated by the white people. He and his people were then moved to Fort Leavenworth from there to Baxter Springs, Kansas, and finally to Indian Territory

Hence we can say that The whites gained the control of Chute-pa-lu when they invited the chiefs that the tribe had to a meeting with the council and then they promised them that they would have their own country if only they signed a treaty that would have them to give up their lands.

What crime is Anthony accused of doing? How is her description connected to the Constitution? in On Women’s Right to Suffrage
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

 • Susan B. Anthony was found guilty of violating the Enforcement Act of 1870 and New York law by illegally voting, and fined $100. The right to a jury trial exists only when there is a disputed fact, not when there is an issue of law.
 • Susan B. Anthony was a pioneer crusader for women's suffrage in the United States. She was president (1892–1900) of the National Woman Suffrage Association. Her work helped pave the way for the Nineteenth Amendment (1920) to the Constitution, giving women the right to vote.
 • After her indictment, Anthony gave her famous On Womens Right to Vote speech. In the speech, Anthony invoked the preamble to the U.S. Constitution, pointing out that it addresses We, the people, and not We, the male citizens. She argued that those countries that denied women the right to vote were oligarchies.
