I believe the correct answer is the pulmonary artery.

The pulmonary circulation starts from the pulmonary artery that receives blood from the right ventricle. The artery then take the blood to the lungs where oxygen is added and carbon dioxide is removed then taken back to the left atrium via the pulmonary vein, into the left ventricle and back to the tissues via the aorta.

Circulation is divided into systemic circulation and pulmonary circulation. Pulmonary circulation supplies the blood that has waste and carbon dioxide to the lungs where oxygen is added after carbon dioxide is removed. The blood from tissues is picked up by capillary bed in the superior region of the body that includes the neck, chest and head and supplied to the superior vena cava and the lower regions including the limbs, pelvic region and the abdomen are picked up by capillary beds and supplied to the inferior vena cava. Both these veins take the blood to the right atrium of the heart that then passes the blood to the right ventricles and the right ventricle pumps the blood to the pulmonary artery that is the only artery in the body that carries de-oxygenated blood. The pulmonary artery carries the blood and distributes it to capillaries in the lung tissues that then allow the diffusion of carbon dioxide into the alveoli of the lungs and then out of the body while oxygen is dissolved and diffused across the alveoli membrane into the waiting capillaries. The diffused blood with oxygen in the other bed of capillaries feeds the pulmonary vein. This vein takes the oxygenated blood away from the lungs into the left atrium that then pumps the blood into the left ventricle which supplies the whole of the body with oxygenated blood via the aorta that divides into several branches that supplies supply capillaries which in turn supply the tissues that need oxygenated blood.

Which kind of medical malpractice insurance policy protects the insured for incidents that occurred during the policy period but
JulijaS [17]

An occurrence insurance policy protects the insured for incidents that occurred during the policy period but may not have been reported until after the policy expired.

What is insurance?

A tool for managing risks is insurance. When you get insurance, you get a defense against unanticipated monetary losses. The insurance provider compensates you or a different person of your choosing if something unfavorable occurs. The insurer and the policyholder (the person or entity who acquires the policy) have a written agreement known as an insurance policy (the insurance company). Sometimes the policyholder is not the insured. When a person or company purchases an insurance policy to defend someone else or something, they are known as the policyholder (who is the insured). When a business buys life insurance for a worker, for instance, the individual is the insured and the business is the policyholder.

You are working with a patient who sustained a spinal cord injury resulting in paralysis of the legs. This person has:
meriva

Answer:

A patient with a spinal cord injury that resulted in paralysis of the legs has paraplegia (option c).

Explanation:

Paraplegia consists of paralysis of the lower extremities or legs due to injuries to the spinal cord, from the dorsal vertebrae. Other causes of paraplegia include tumors and malformations that affect the spinal cord.

The spinal cord provides the nerves that allow the innervation of the limbs. A spinal cord injury interrupts communication between the brain and the effector (motor) muscles as well as the sensory nerves in the affected limbs, producing paralysis. When it occurs in the legs is called paraplegia.

The other options are not correct because:

    a. Hemiplegia corresponds to paralysis of upper and lower limbs on one side only.

    b. Pseudoplegia is a paralysis that is due to mental disorders such as conversion disorder, without injury to the nervous system.

    d. Dysplegia is associated with motor disorders observed in children with varying degrees of dysfunction or cerebral paralysis.
