The "Regulator Movement" was an uprising of the Biritsh North America's Carolina citizens against the government, because of the economic depression, class war and political corruption that was also present in the jurisdictional system. These and many more where the reasons that led to the Nutbush Address given by George Sims as a way to protest against the power abuse of county clerks, sheriffs and lawyers and later this led to what is known as the "Regulator Movement" where the opposition group was called "The Regulators" who were mostly farming class landowning men whom seeked regulation and equality in the political process because of the excessive power abuse and taxation from the local government.
