Answer: B. She is looked down on by the town for having a scandalous relationship with Homer.

Explanation:

In the short story, ''<em>A Rose for Emily</em> '' by William Faulkner, Emily Grierson is a reclusive woman who starts a relationship with a Northerner named Homer Barron who had come to the town of Jefferson to pave its sidewalks.

Homer begins a relationship with Emily whilst making it known that he has no intention to marry. This, along with the fact that the townspeople looked down on him because they thought Emily was of higher social class, made them look down on Emily for what they saw as a scandalous relationship with Homer.
