In the UK, the parliament votes on what will become an act and what will not. An act is term for a law, and these acts, when created as drafts, are called bills. The parliament votes and then they become a piece of legislation.

Taking a stand that is in concert with these customers' wishes will do nothing but help a company be seen as socially and culturally-progressive. This will give the impression that the company actually cares about their customers instead of simply looking at the bottom line.</span>
