<u>Answer</u>:

A function of glucose in plant cells is it is used during cellular respiration in the mitochondria.

<u>Explanation</u>:

The main function of glucose is to provide energy for plant growth and development during cellular respiration inside mitochondria.

Glucose is a product of the process called photosynthesis in plants. Since the plants are autotrophs or the producers they synthesize their food (i.e.glucose) through light energy from sun, and water & carbon dioxide from its surrounding.

Many molecules of glucose are connected by chemical bonds and are stored as starch inside the plant tissues.

Answer:

Photosynthetic organisms provide food for humans as well as glucose and oxygen.  All the food we eat either directly (if we eat a plant) or indirectly (if we eat an animal that eats plants or other animals) can be traced to photosynthesis. Actually, almost all organisms obtain their energy from photosynthetic organisms.
