Here is all the information I gathered: “17th amendment to the US constitution: Direct election of US senators (1913) Passed by congress may 13 1912, and ratified April 8, 1913, the 17th amendment modified article I, section 3, of the constitution by allowing voters to cast direct votes for US senators” I don’t know if this will help but I hope it does.
