Answer: The initial values of the two functions are different but the rate of change is same.

Step-by-step explanation:

For function  A ,

When x=1, the initial value of function A=3

The rate of change of function A =\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{7-3}{3-1}=\frac{4}{2}=2

For function B,

When x=1, the initial value of function B= 4

The rate of change of function A =\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{8-4}{3-1}=\frac{4}{2}=2

Since, 3≠4, thus, the initial values of two function is different.

But the rate of change is same.

<em>Thus, Function A has odd output values, because it has an odd number as initial value and 2 as constant rate of change.</em>

<em>Function B has even output values, because it has an even number as initial value and 2 as constant rate of change.</em>

I would say:
<span>The initial values of the two functions are different, and the rates of change of the two functions are the same.
</span>
(AKA B)

How didi the temperature change if at it decreased by 60% then increased by 80%
leonid [27]

Answer:

It decreased

Step-by-step explanation:

It decreased. Assuming that the temperature is 100 and it is now reduced by 60% then the temperature will be at 40 and if it increased by 80% then the final temp is 72. So it is 48% of the original temp.

What is the midpoint of the segment of the segment that would be created between points L and N on a graph?
il63 [147K]

Option A:

Midpoint of LN = (2, 3)

Solution:

In the given graph we can find the coordinates of L and N.

Coordinates of L = (–2, 3)

Coordinates of N = (6, 3)

Here, x_{1}=-2, x_{2}=6, y_{1}=3, y_{2}=3

Let us find the midpoint of the segment LN.

<u>Midpoint formula:</u>

$\text { Midpoint }=\left(\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2}, \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2}\right)

                \begin{aligned}&=\left(\frac{-2+6}{2}, \frac{3+3}{2}\right)\\&=\left(\frac{4}{2}, \frac{6}{2}\right)\\&=(2,3)\end{aligned}

Midpoint of LN = (2, 3)

Option A is the correct answer.

Hence the coordinates of the midpoint of the line segment LN is (2, 3).
