A cellphone tower is located 700 feet from an office building. When looking out the window of the office, the angle of elevation

to the top of the tower is 46 degrees, and the angle of depression to the bottom of the tower is 32 degrees. What is the height of the cellphone tower? (Please describe how you found the answer.)

By creating two right triangles (one for depression and one for elevation) and by using 700 as the adjacent side, you can use tangents to find the opposite sides and add them together.

Tan(45) = opposite side/700 or 700tan(45) = opposite side (elevation).

This of course equals 700.

Then do the same for the depression.

Tan(32) = opposite side/700 or 700tan(32) = opposite side (elevation).

Which equals 437.4.

Adding the two together and you get the height of the cell tower at 1137.4ft

The community Relief Charity Group is earning 2.5% simple interest on the $2200 it invested in a savings account. It also earns
Over [174]

Answer:

$5,500 was invested in the insured bond fund

Step-by-step explanation:

First, let us calculate the interest earned on savings account

Simple interest = principal × rate × time

where:

principal = $2,200

rate = 2.5% = 2.5/100 = 0.025

time = 1 year

∴ simple interest = 2200 × 0.025 × 1 = $55

Total annual interest earned = interest earned from savings account + interests earned on insured bond fund = $308

∴ 308 = 55 + interests earned on insured bond fund

∴ interests earned on insured bond fund = 308 - 55 = $253

Finally, we know the simple interest earned on insured bond fund, the amount invested (principal) is calculated as follows:

simple interest = principal × rate × time

where:

simple interest = $253

rate = 4.6% = 0.046

time = 1 year

∴  253 = principal × 0.046 × 1

253 = principal × 0.046

∴principal = 253 ÷ 0.046 = 5500

Therefore $5,500 was invested in the insured bond fund

line s has a slope of -9/5. line t has a slope of 5/9. are line s and line t parallel or perpendicular
uysha [10]

Answer:

perpendicular

Step-by-step explanation:

If 2 lines are parallel then their slopes are equal

If 2 lines are perpendicular then the product of their slopes = - 1

Here

- \frac{9}{5} × \frac{5}{9} = - 1

Then the 2 lines are perpendicular
